BHT for Cold Sores and Herpes.
BHT or Butylated Hydroxytoluene (an antioxidant) is the most useful substance I have found in the aleviation of cold sores. The amino acid L-Lysine that the body needs for growth and tissue repair and the bactirium Lactobacillus Acidophilus Bacilii are also useful but in my experience not nearly as effective. It is also useful for herpes and some people are using it for AIDS. BHT is not a cure for herpes. These links are provided because it is sometimes difficult to find places to buy BHT. The BHT antioxidant was patented in 1947 and received approval of the Food and Drug Administration for use as a food additive and preservative in 1954.
